Services From Our Parish

OUR PARISH NURSES/HEALTH CARE MINISTRY....

Mission Statement

The Mission of Parish Nurse Ministry within St. Mary of the Assumption Parish is “to promote Jesus as our Healer and Great Physician by ministering to the sick, advocating for the oppressed and promoting health and wholeness within our Parish Community.”

WHAT IS PARISH NURSING?

Parish Nursing and Health Ministry is a Parish-based ministry, which cares for the whole person --- body, mind and spirit. This ministry arises from the needs of the Parish Community and is realized through the talents of registered nurses and other health professionals or lay leaders who combine health science with pastoral care.

While each Parish Community’s program is unique, all programs provide for wellness, health and healing as well as access to community health resources.

“Many people who have gone into nursing were motivated by a desire to service people in a whole-person manner... freedom to minister holistically to people is the gift that Parish Nursing offers.”
Granger Westberg
Father of Parish Nursing
